With Jason doing a “wellness” check on his parents, I thought it would be the ideal time for me to continue with my “tick off” list.
Earlier in the week Jason had commented on how “dusty” the blinds were starting to get. I am not sure if this was a “hint” or not, but I decided since I did buy more than enough vinegar that I might as well get on with it. According to Dr Google it is supposed to be a “super cleaning product”. I started in our bedroom and bathroom and 3 hours of washing of Trellidor burglar bars and tecwood blinds later, my fingers looked like they had aged 10 years! Just to clarify, that is how far I got! I did not get past those 2 rooms!
A quick lunch and it was the garage cupboards turn to get re-arranged and emptied of unnecessary bits that cannot seem to make its way out the house. Tea break of tea and biscuits, it was time for the pear, date and walnut loaf to get into the oven. I “folded” and did a “fruit loaf”. I still cannot bring myself to bake a banana loaf. For some reason my computer just keeps on saying no! Whilst the loaf was baking, it was finally time for a shower to freshen up and get rid of the Bob Marley look which I have been “wearing” this week.
Today, was very similar to yesterday, although today my morning started with my weekly church service first. It was then the turn of the home office. Trellidor and techwood blinds washed, healthy brunch, books packed on the freshly painted bookcase, furniture slightly rearranged, desks cleaned and floors polished, at least 1 room got a decent “spring clean”. Shower, motivational video for my church recorded, tea and watching of cd’s of old ship photographs which I discovered during my spring clean.
It has turned out to be a rather productive weekend! Not a single moment was wasted on “doing nothing”, which I would normally end up regretting. I do feel “sorry” for my Eve though, as the cleaning of the Trellidor and blinds has left me a bit critical on the “level” of cleaning done by her. I am not entirely convinced that it is due to the lack of attention of the past 8 weeks! Something tells me that I am going to have to monitor this particular area with a more refined eye going forward! I of course still have the rest of the house to do, but frankly I am in no rush! Who knows what Mr President will say tonight. My Eve might be back sooner than what I thought!
Earlier in the week I realised that although I have been a great “home executive”, I did lack balance. I was not dedicating enough time to my coaching practise and hobbies, although I am no longer so sure what those hobbies are!

When it comes to balance I know the importance of dedicating time to sleep, exercise, work, connecting with others, play, down time and time in. If I look at my “ideal day” and personal productivity, my lack of balance makes sense. Yes folks, these 2 go hand-in-hand. If one spoke of your wheel is broken, it does not take long for the others to start folding on the extra weight it now has to carry. Like a wheel, every spoke/area of your life is as important as the other.

How “productive” have you been, if at all? Did you give your list a go or has the “novelty” of “domestication” worn off already? Which areas of your life have you stopped paying attention to and what are you going to be doing about it?
If I look at my wheel the one thing missing for this weekend is my “play time”. For tonight the F1 Virtual Race from Monte Carlo will have to do.
Until next time
Love, light and positive change
