Let the Music Play

I have been writing about how “different” Easter has been compared to other years and yesterday and today has been no different! After my now weekly house cleaning routine, although today was the PITS because I actually moved furniture around, upon mentioning to Jason how “knackered” I was, his only response was, “Do not over do it my love”. I think if looks could kill, he would be dead, because I was hoping he would say, “Let me take over”, but of course that was not going to happen lol.

OK, so in his defense he was baking a bread and making a soup, both on the fire for lunch, but that he does out of enjoyment! There is absolutely NO fun in pushing furniture around, dusting and mopping floors! OK, OK, so compared to other couples I am extremely fortunate in that I actually don’t have to ask my husband to help around the house, as he does it naturally, but I guess during lock-down this cleaning business tests your limits especially when you are allergic to dust, so you have no choice but to clean!

Anyway, so yesterday’s Easter Sunday lunch was quite different. Woolworths microwave meals, since Jason was making a lamb potjie for supper. Yes, OK, so at least we are sharing the cooking. After lazing about listening to ancient cassettes he got everything ready for us to live stream the Andrea Bocelli – Music for Hope Concert, live from Milan. If you did not manage to see it, do yourself a favor and find it on YouTube and watch it! Wow, wow, wow! When the hairs stand up on your arms, you know that the music has touched your soul.

If you have been following my blogs, you would know that he is one of my favorites, from one of my favorite countries. Maestro Andrea, in a time when there is so much going on around the world, your music makes us forget just for a moment that we should have hope, that everything will be OK. Music is a way for us to be transported to a different time and place and boy, did you do that for us!

Needless to say, after the concert, we could not help ourselves but to watch some more Bocelli concerts, drinking our glasses of wine, watching our fire. Things might seem hopeless, but you Maestro Bocelli restored our faith in humanity. You are helping us get through this lock-down more than you will ever know!

Until next time, let the music continue to play…….

Love, light and positive change,

Ophelia
