Online grocery shopping

My aim was to blog yesterday and then I got distracted by online shopping! Yes, online grocery shopping of all things!

I have previously mentioned my “obsession” with monthly bulk buying from a local wholesaler for mostly cleaning products and Jason’s work snacks. After browsing through their catalogue of R100 deals I decided that I might actually try purchasing online so that I could avoid potential long lines later in the week. Unfortunately for me, you cannot buy these deals online, it has to be purchased in-store. So much for that idea! I then reasoned that if I was going to the wholesaler, I should rather try and purchase my fruit and vegetables from a fruit and vegetable delivery service that can deliver sooner rather than later. Much to my dismay, these orders have to be placed 3 days in advance! With that option now also “canned”, I decided first on Woolworths delivery and then the drive through option. Next Thursday was the earliest available slot! Checkers then? Nope, what a hassle to just register for delivery. After a 20 minute battle without any success I decided on the Bottles, Pick ‘n Pay option. Took me less than 2 minutes to register, place my order and track my delivery for same day delivery!
OK, so there was a bit of a hiccup at the store, but they did call to advice and ask if the morning would be OK instead. Of course it is! Gosh, with all the drama with the others, I was thrilled! There is still hope with this online grocery shopping thing yet!
Now do you understand how I could get distracted and spend most of my afternoon shopping without actually purchasing anything? Felt a bit like window shopping which I HATE! I really do not see the point of walking aimlessly around a mall, walking away with absolutely nothing!
Today was a beautiful day. It called for time to be spent in the garden weeding! After an hour of that, it was shower and then lunch time. I am not quite sure what is happening to me lately, but I had the sudden urge to bake! The plan was for Jason to do a beef potjie and bread on the coals, which I would have to put together, but I felt that it needed a dessert! On the fire we currently have the rosemary bread, a beef stew and a traditional malva pudding!

My bubbles has been poured and despite everything going on around us, life is good! We are continuing to enjoy each others’ company and our “experimenting” in the kitchen is luckily not sitting on our hips! Yesterday I was able to fit into a pair of shorts, which has not been able to go over one leg, never mind two, since at least 2 years ago! The daily exercise seems to be paying off! 😊🤞
Who knows what tomorrow might bring. Maybe a second attempt at online grocery shopping, but until then……...
Love, light and positive change
Ophelia
