Our relationship with Silence

Our biggest fear at the moment is that of uncertainty. We did not plan for a lock-down or a pandemic, and if you are like me, a planner, the events that are happening right now has left me very fearful of the unknown.
Add into this social media and all the various screens which we allow our lives to be taken over by on a daily basis and this fearful wave just engulfs us even further.
Thus far there are many lessons that we should be learning during this “crazy” time, but have we been open to them? Have we stopped comparing our situations to others, just being present in what is happening in our own space so that we can be more empathetic towards others and live a life filled with gratitude for that which we do have? Have we become grounded enough so that we are not engulfed and pulled into conversations which are not serving us, but instead destroying our spirit and causing more turmoil than good, propelling us to things that are not good for us? Have we taken the time which we have now been given to form a relationship with silence?

This might sound completely foreign to us, but have we taken the time to go for a walk without our phones or just sit with a cup of tea whilst staring out the window, doing nothing else, but being really present? Have we allowed ourselves to live completely in the present?
I am going to let these questions simmer with you.
It is cold and raining outside. As I type away the only sounds I am hearing is that of wind, rain and my fingers dancing on my keyboard. It is a “reflective” kind of day. A day whereby I want to be fully present in my silence, in my being, in my moment.
Until next time
Light, love and positive thoughts
