Struggling with Sleep

I am a typical Cancerian! I am “bothered” by the tides and therefore always struggle with sleep during full moon. Now I know that it currently is not full moon, but in fact “new” moon, which makes it completely opposite to full moon, so this now seems to “bother” me too!
As I mentioned before, Jason is a weather “geek” and therefore also a Geography “geek”. I read him my first paragraph and he responds with, “I do not want to get technical, however”. When he starts with that, you sit and listen! You have to be accurate with your data after all!

Because they are completely opposite, the magnetic pull affects the tides in the 2 phases in exactly the same way! Basic Geography which I am sure I learnt in school, but because it was not a subject of choice, I guess the “switch was not always on”!
Last night the stars were out and by the time we went to bed and drawn our curtains, I could not even see my hand in front of my face. Yes, that is how dark it was! Complete heaven if light troubles you! In the case of full moon, it shines brightly, where as in new moon, it is the complete opposite, darkness! Perfect sleeping conditions! No light and no noise! Now because the moon phases do indeed “bother” me to such an extent, I cannot take advantage of these “perfect” conditions!
Surely I cannot be the only one that it affects?
Google really has become one of my “best friends” especially during lock-down! Need a diagnosis – Google. Need a recipe – Google. Want the meaning of life – Google. Cancerian and moon phases – Google
So according to “Dr Google”:
"The connection between the Cancer sign with the moon (the sign’s ruling planet) is the cause for the Crab’s abrupt emotional changes, which wax and wane as do the phases of the moon."
"The Moon phases directly affect Cancer. The shrinking moon drains Cancer of vitality. The new moon is a new start, and Cancer’s stature grows in sync with the waxing moon. When the moon is full, Cancer is confident, capable of great action, theatrics and sometimes a great foolish delusion. "
Besides the moon phases, that initially kept me awake, I was stirred awake just after 03h30. There are many “conspiracy” theories around waking that time of morning, but frankly I do not want to venture down that road in this blog.
When I first started to write this blog, my topic was going to be struggling with sleep and now it has gone all over the place! I do not know if it is the tiredness due to lack of sleep or the fact that I have also been “distracted” by a little Facebook City Nature Challenge of identifying insects, birds, plants, mammals, reptiles and amphibians and “other” in your garden! I am in a Biosphere after all, so might as well pass the time productively! Who knows, what I spot!

It has actually been a lot of fun and actually not that easy capturing the “smaller” creatures and anything with wings! I am surprised by the abundance of life that seems to blend in so seamlessly with us. Although my cellphone is great, I wish I had a long lens camera, to not only take fantastic nature shots, but also that of the phases of the moon, another thing which is hard to capture!
Oooh, I think it is time to go back into the garden, sit quietly and wait for my “new start” whilst capturing nature.
Until next time
Love, light and positive change
